Free Cleaning Service for Women Undergoing Chemo

I’ve been uncharacteristically busy this past month, and haven’t had time to post to the blog.  But I am carving out the time to post something special, which is also uncharacteristic for this blog.

As a cancer survivor, I know that something as mundane as cleaning the home becomes an insurmountable task during chemo, and I wish I had known about this when I underwent my treatment.  My friend Gail Ruopp, who is the Executive Director of Flaster/Greenberg P.C. in Cherry Hill, NJ. just alerted me to this service, and I definitely appreciate the opportunity to pass it along.  Thanks Gail!

The organization is called Cleaning for a Reason.  They provide FREE housecleaning service, one time per month for four months, while the woman is undergoing chemo.  All she has to do is sign up and have her doctor fax a note confirming the treatment.  They will then have a participating maid service in her zip code area arrange for the service.

This organization serves the entire USA and currently has 547 partners to help these women.  I am blessed to have the opportunity to pass the word along to help my sisters deal with this one aspect of the fight against cancer — every bit of help counts!
