12:00 pm – 1:00 pm     Welcome to Reality  [YLD Meeting]

Will acquaint new attorneys with the many challenges they will face when establishing their practice or joining a law firm. Will cover capturing the billable hour, financial basics, learning how to market, the role of technology, working with staff, and opening your own practice.

1:15 pm – 2:15 pm         Social Media: Part of Today’s Client Development and Retention Toolkit

Will explore the new internet-based forms of networking and communications which have a proven track records of producing positive results, and provide helpful information which will enable you to successfully deploy these new strategies.  Blogging, websites, search engine optimization, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and more, all demystified!

2:15 pm – 3:15 pm       Avoiding Malpractice by Improving Staff Relations

A good number of malpractice claims result from staff errors.  Good communications between attorney and staff are essential. Will provide sound suggestions for the changes to make which will have the greatest positive impact both on interpersonal relationships and the accuracy of client work.

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm     High Tech Courtroom Presentation Tools

Designed to enhance awareness of the available tools for attorneys to use to create powerful and effective evidence presentations.  Some practical “road warrior” tips and tricks will be included to use when Murphy’s Law takes effect.  Actual samples of exhibits which utilize varying tools will be shown.
